Roaring River Water Cycle Game

Roaring River Water Cycle Game

water - water cycle - rain

Students move about the classroom or playground, challenging each other in an interactive, full-body sound effect game of Rock, Paper Scissors that incorporates three different phases of the water cycle.

Introduction

The water cycle:

  • Rain falls and collects into streams, then rivers, then pools in lakes, more rivers lead to the oceans.
  • In the ocean, the water evaporates and rises up into the atmosphere and forms clouds.
  • The cycle starts again when the rain falls from the clouds.

Some of the water gets collected into our water treatment tanks before it can unite with the ocean.

Objectives

Students will be able to:

  • describe the water cycle in simple terms.
